Southwest monsoon is likely to set in Central Myanmar area during 21st - 23rd of May and the whole country during 24th - 30th of May. A low pressure area may form over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal and its may further intensify into a depression. During this period, monsoon will be moderate to strong. Weather will be partly cloudy to cloudy over the North Bay of Bengal.
Rain condition and Rainy Day
Rain or thundershowers will be above normal in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Mandalay, Bago, Magway, Lower Sagaing, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kayah, Kayin, Mon, Rakhine, Shan States and about normal in Upper Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Chin States.
Rainy days are expected about 7 to 9 days in Yangon, Bago, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayah, Kayin, Mon, Northern and Eastern Shan States and about 4 to 6 days in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Magway, Sagaing Regions and Kachin, Chin, Rakhine, Southern Shan States.
