SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Yangon, Magway Regions and (Northern and Eastern)Shan State, scattered in Upper Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kayah, Rakhine States, farily widespread in Bago, Lower Sagaing, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Chin, Mon States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Lower Sagaing Regions. Day temperatures were 2°C above May average temperatures in Bago Region and Chin State and 2°C below May average temperatures in Mandalay Region and Kayah, Rakhine States, 3°C below May average temperature in Lower Sagaing Region and about May average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were 39.2°C each in Chauk and Aunglan, 38.5°C in Taungdwingyi, 38.0°C each in Nyaunglaybin and Pakokku, 37.9°C in Myingyan, 37.1°C in Magway, 36.5°C each in Meiktila and Nyaung Oo and 36.4°C in Kalay on 21-5-2025. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 2.17 inches each in Yeu and Tachileik, 1.73 inches in Chaungsone, 1.70 inches in Thazi, 1.65 inches in Ela, 1.57 inches each in Kawthaung and Myitkyina, 1.46 inches in Mandalay(Aungmyaythasan), 1.45 inches in Pyinmana, 1.42 inches in Naypyitaw(Zabuthiri) and 1.38 inches each in Mandalay(Chanayethasan) and Kawkareik.

BAYINFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea, South Bay, Eastcentral and Northeast Bay of Bengal. Weather is cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 23rd May 2025: Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Sagaing Region and Chin, Rakhine States and fairly widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Sagaing Region and Chin, Rakhine States. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Chin, Rakhine States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 25-30 mph. Wave height will be about 7 - 9 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Increase of rain in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Mandalay, Bago, Magway, Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayah, Kayin, Chin, Mon, Rakhine, (Southern and Eastern)Shan States.
