SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Lower Sagaing Region. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Magway Region, scattered in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Upper Sagaing Regions and Kachin, Rakhine, Northern Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Kayin State and isolated heavyfalls in Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Mon State. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 4.53 inches in Paung, 4.13 inches in Dawei, 3.90 inches in Kyeikkhame, 3.46 inches in Hpa-an(Agro-Met), 3.39 inches each in Hpa-an and Mudon, 3.15 inches in Wakema, 2.52 inches in Khayan,  2.50 inches in Kyaiklat, 2.37 inches in Danubyu and 2.36 inches in Mawlamyine.

BAYINFERENCE:  Monsoon is strong to vigorous over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

Special Features: According to the observations at 13:30 hrs MST today, the Tropical Storm “WIPHA” crossing the inland areas of Vietnam is likely to move Westwards and continue to cross the inland areas of Vietnam and weaken into a Land Depression over Laos during next 18 hours. Due to the remnants of Tropical Storm“WIPHA”, heavy rain with strong wind will be in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Mandalay, Bago, Magway, Lower Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayah, Kayin, Chin, Mon, Rakhine, Shan States from today afternoon to 25-7-2025.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 23rd July 2025: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Magway, Sagaing Regions and Kachin, Northern Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region and Kayin, Mon States and isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Mandalay, Bago, Magway, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kayah, Rakhine, (Southern and Eastern)Shan States. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon, Rakhine, (Southern and Eastern)Shan States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: Frequent squalls with very rough seas will be experienced in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 45 mph. Wave height will be about 14-16 feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Occasional squalls with rough sea will be experienced off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 35 mph. Wave height will be about 10-13 feet off and along Rakhine Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Rain or thundershowers isolated and regionally heavyfalls  in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Mandalay, Bago, Magway, Lower Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayah, Kayin, Chin,  Mon, Rakhine, Shan States.
