It is likely to move west–northwestwards towards Sri Lanka and further intensify over Southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Equatorial Indian Ocean during next 24 hours. Weather is generally fair over the North Bay of Bengal, a few cloud over the Central Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

Bay of Bengal Condition

          Southwest monsoon is likely to Deltaic Areas during (21-25) and Central Myanmar Areas during (26-31) of May. A low pressure area may form over the Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal and it may further intensify into a depression. Weather will be partly cloudy to cloudy over North Bay and monsoon will be moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

Rain Conditions and Rainy Days

Above normal rain are likely in Upper Sagaing, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin, Rakhine and Mon States about normal in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway and Bago  Regions, Shan, Chin, Kayah and Kayin States.

Rainy days are expected about (5) to (8) days in Upper Sagaing and Taninthayi Regions, Mon State and about (2) to (4) days in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Kachin, Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayah and Kayin States.
