 24-7-2025: According to the observations at 12:30 hrs MST today, the Low Pressure Area over North Bay of Bengal still persists. It is likely to move West-Northwestwards and further intensify into a Well Marked Low Pressure Area over Northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining West Bengal, India and Bangladesh Coasts during next 24 hours. Thereafter, it is likely to move towards West Bengal and North Odisha Coasts, India during next 48 hours. Monsoon is vigorous over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Lower Sagaing and Magway Regions, Kayah State, scattered in Upper Sagaing and Mandalay Regions, Shan and Chin States, fairly widespread in Bago and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin and Rakhine States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavy falls in Rakhine and Mon States.The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Sittwe (5.79)inches, Chaungsone (3.03)inches, Zaung Tu (2.87)inches Nyaungton (2.80) inches, Shwegyin (2.36)inches, Maubin (2.17)inches,  Theinzayet (2.05)inches and Ngathaichaung (2.01) inches.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate to strong in the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 1st July, 2015: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions, Kayah State, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing and Taninthayi Regions, Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavy falls in Kachin, Rakhine and Mon States. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough sea are Likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35) m.p.h.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Moderate monsoon.
