26-5-2024: According to the observations at (05:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Cyclonic Storm “REMAL” over North Bay and adjoining Eastcentral Bay of Bengal has moved nearly Northwards and now lies over North Bay of Bengal. It is centered at about (285) Nautical miles West-Northwest of Thandwe, (200) Nautical miles West-Southwest of Sittwe (Myanmar), (160) Nautical miles South-Southwest of Khepupara (Bangladesh), (160) Nautical miles South-Southeast of Sagar Island and (180) Nautical miles South-Southeast of Canning (West Bangal, India). Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and Southeast Bay of Bengal of Bengal and weather is cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

Depression 

According to the observations at (06:00)hrs M.S.T today, the depression over the

South Bangladesh and adjoining west Bengal has moved Northwestward. It is

located at about (30)miles East of Krishnanagar (India) and (20)miles Southeast

of Chuadanga(Bangladesh). It is forecast to move North-Northwestwards. It is

located near India and Bangladesh Coast, the present stage of the depression

is coded yellow stage. It is not moving towards Myanmar coasts.

Position of depression, Center pressure and wind

 Depression is located at Latitude (23.5) degree North and Longitude (89.0)

degree East, Centre pressure of depression is (996) hPa and maximum wind

speed near the center is about (40)miles per hour at (06:00) hrs MST today.

General caution

Occasional squalls with rough sea will be experienced off and along Rakhine

Coast. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40) m.p.h.

Advisory

Trawlers, vessels and ships off and along Rakhine Coast are advised to avert

in condition of depression.
