17-2-2026:According to the observations at 17:30 hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure over the East Equatorial Indian Ocean and adjoining Southwest Bay of Bengal still persists. It is likely to move west–northwestwards and further intensify over Southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining East Equatorial Indian Ocean on 18-2-2026. Weather is generally fair over the North Bay of Bengal, a few cloud over the Central Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

            According to the observations at (13:30) hrs MST today, due to strong to vigorous monsoon over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal, rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread to widespread in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and  Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States with likelihood of regionally heavy falls and isolated heavy falls during (19.7.202 1) to (23.7.2021).

During this period, rain are likely to be (3)inches (77-mm) and above in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and  Taninthayi Regions, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States within (24)hours.

          Due to the heavy rainfall, People should be awared of the natural disasters such as landslide and flash flood in the hilly areas and near small rivers.
