25-10-2025:According to the observations at 17:30 hrs MST today, the low pressure area over the Southeast Bay of Bengal still persists. It is likely to move West-Northwestwards and may further intensify into a depression over Southeast and adjoining Central Bay of Bengal on 25-10-2025 and further into a Deep Depression on 26-10-2025 and into a Cyclonic Storm over the Southwest and adjoining Westcentral Bay of Bengal on 27-10-2025. Weather is cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and South Bay and a few cloud to partly cloudy over the North Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

Depression

According to the observations at (17:30)hrs M.S.T today, the Depression over Southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Equatorial Indian Ocean  moved north­northwestwards . It is centered at about (760) Nautical miles Southwest of Coco-Island, (875) Nautical miles Southwest of Hainggyigyun (Myanmar), (190) Nautical miles South- Southeast of Trincomalee(Sri Lanka), (350) Nautical miles South-Southeast of Nagapattinam, (410)Nautical miles South-Southeast of Puducherry and (455)Nautical miles South-Southeast of Chennai (India).

It is not moving towards Myanmar coasts, the present stage of the depression is coded yellow stage.

            Depression is located at Latitude (6.1) degree North and Longitude (83.4) degree East, centre pressure of depression is (1004) hPa and maximum wind speed near the center is (32) miles per hour at (17:30)hour MST today. .

During next (48) hrs Forecast

The depression is contuinous to move Northwestwards and may further intensify into a Deep Depression. It is likely to reach coast of Sri Lanka towards north Tamil Nadu Coast during next 48 hours.
