2-12-2025: According to the observations at 10:30 hrs MST today, the Deep Depression over the Westcentral Bay and adjoining Southwest Bay of Bengal, North Tamil Nadu and South Andhra Pradesh coasts (India) has weaken into a Depression now lies over the Southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining the Westcentral Bay, North Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and South Andhra Pradesh coasts (India) is centered at about 755 Nautical miles West of Coco Island(Myanmar), 70 Nautical miles North-Northeast of Puducherry (India) and 15 Nautical miles Southeast of Chennai(India). It is likely continue to move slowly Southwestwards towards the North Tamil Nadu-Puducherry coasts, India and weaken gradually into a Well Marked Low Pressure Area. Weather is cloudy over the Northwest and Westcentral Bay of Bengal and a few cloud to partly cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

According to the observations at (17:30)hrs M.S.T today, the deep depression is moving to Ayeyarwady Region, near Patheinand it is movingNorth-Northeastwards.

            It is continuous to movingAyeyarwady Region, near Pathein(Myanmar), the present stage of the deep depression is coded brown stage.

During next (24) hrs forecast

            The deep depression is likely continuous to move North-Northeastwards and weaken into a land depression and forecast to reach near Southern Rakhine Coast.

General caution

  1. Due to the deep depression, rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread to widespread in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, TaninthayiRegions and Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin, Mon States with regionally and isolated heavy falls in some Regions and States during  tonight  to (24.3.2022).
  2. Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40) m.p.h. Wave height will be about (8-12) feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
  3. During the deep depressionis continuous moving to Ayeyarwady Region near Pathein, maximum wind speedmay reach (40) mph in Ayeyarwady Region and (30) mph in Yangon Region.
  4. When the deep depression is crossing, storm surge height will be (6)ft to (8)ft in Estuary and Tributaries at Pathein District, Labutta District, Myaungmya District, Maubin District, Phyarpon District, Ayeyarwady Region.

Due to the deep depression, people should be aware rain or thundershowers with strong wind, lightning, flash floods in small streams and mountain streams and landslides in the mountainous areas and domestic flight, trawlers, vessels and ships in off and along Myanmar Coasts.
