26-5-2024: According to the observations at (21:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Severe Cyclonic Storm “REMAL” over North Bay of Bengal has continued to move nearly Northwards and centered at about (180) Nautical miles West-Northwest of Maungdaw, (220) Nautical miles West-Northwest of Sittwe,(Myanmar), (65) Nautical miles Southwest of Khepupara, (70) Nautical miles South- Southwest of Mongla, (Bangladesh), (65) Nautical miles East-Southeast of Sagar Island, (95) Nautical miles East-Southeast of Digha and (65) Nautical miles South-Southeast of Canning (West Bangal, India). Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and strong to vigorous over the Eastcentral Bay. Weather is cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

Bay of Bengal Condition

Two low pressure area may form over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal and one may further intensify into a depression. Weather will be partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal and a few cloud over elsewhere Bay of Bengal.

Rain Condition and Rainy Day

Rain or thunder showers are likely above normal in East Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Eastern Shan, Kayah,  Kayin, Mon States, below normal in Kachin State and about normal in Naypyitaw, Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, West Bago Regions and Northern and Southern Shan, Chin, Rakhine States.

Rainy days are expected about (10) to (15) days in Taninthayi Region and Kachin, Southern and Eastern Shan, Kayah, Kayin, Mon States and about (4) to (9) days in Naypyitaw, Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Northern Shan, Chin, Rakhine States.

Day temperature will be above normal of April average temperature in Sagaing, Magway Regions and Kachin, Chin, Kayah States and about normal in NayPyiTaw, Mandalay, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwaddy, Tanintharyi Regions and Shan, Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States.
