Southwest monsoon is likely to set in the whole country during (1 – 5) of June. Two low pressure areas may form over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal and one may further intensify into a depression. During this period, monsoon will be moderate over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.
Rain Conditions and Rainy Days
Rain or thundershower will be likely below normal in Magway and West Bago Regions and about normal in Nay Pyi Taw, Sagaing, Mandalay, East Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin, Mon States.
Rainy days will be expected about (23) to (28) days in Upper Sagaing, East Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Southern Shan, Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States, (16) to (22) days in Nay Pyi Taw, West Bago Region and Northern and Eastern Shan, Chin, Kayah States and (9) to (15) days in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions.
