3-11-2025:According to the observations at 05:30 hrs MST today, the low pressure area over the Eastcentral Bay and adjoining near Deltic coast, Myanmar still persists. It is likely to move North-Northwestwards and may reach over the Eastcentral Bay and adjoining Northeast Bay of Bengal and off and along Rakhine coasts and adjoining Deltic coasts during next 36 hours.  Weather is cloudy over the North Andaman Sea, Northeast Bay and Eastcentral Bay and a few cloud to partly cloudy South Andaman Sea  and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

Depression Condition

According to the observations at (09:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Cyclonic Storm “MOCHA” which crossing interior near Katha, Upper Sagaing and moved to nearly East-Northeastwards near Bhamo, Kachin State and weakened into a Depression “MOCHA” in China-Myanmar border. It is likely to gradually weaken as a Low Pressure Area during next (3) hours.

It is already crossed Myanmar, so it is coded as green stage.

 

General caution

  1. Due to the Depression, rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread to widespread in Naypyitaw, Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Kachin, Shan, Chin, Rakhine States from today morning to next (24) hours.
  2.  Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coast. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40-45) m.p.h and wave height will be about (8-12) feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coast.
  3. Due to the remenant of clouds from the storm though it has passed through Myanmar, the maximum wind speed may reach (30) mph in Sagaing, Mandalay, Regions and Kachin, Shan States.
  4. The areas along the depression movement, people should be awared of strong wind, heavy rain, flash flood and landslide in the hilly areas and near small rivers and also domestic flight, trawlers, vessels and ships off and along Myanmar Coasts. Therefore, people should watch the forecasts of The Department of Meteorology and Hydrology and make the necessary preparations.
