8-1-2026 : According to the observations at 15:30 hrs MST today, the Deep Depression over Southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining East Equatorial Indian Ocean has moved West-Northwestwards and it is centered at about 735 Nautical miles Southwest of Coco- Island (Myanmar), 250 Nautical miles Southeast of Trincomalee(Sri Lanka) and 455 Nautical miles South-Southeast of Puducherry(Sri Lanka).Weather is cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and South Bay, partly cloudy over the Central Bay and a few cloud over the North Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been cloudy in Lower Sagaing Region, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Mandalay Region, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Magway, Bago Regions and Southern Shan State, widespread in Upper Sagaing, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin, Northern and Eastern Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States with regionally heavy falls in Taninthayi Region, and Mon State. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Myeik (7.59) inches, Yay (5.51) inches, Kawthong (3.54)inches, Kyeikmayaw and Dawei (3.30)inches each, Ann and Kawkayeit (2.56) inches each, Paung and Kyeikkhame (2.36) inches each and  Myawady (2.20)inches.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong to vigorous over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 6thAugust, 2017: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay Regions, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw and Magway Regions and widespread in Upper Sagaing, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin, Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States with likelihood of isolated heavy falls in Upper Sagaing, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin, Kayin and Mon States. STATE OF THE SEA:  Squalls with rough seas will be experienced at times Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon -Taninthayi Coast. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35-40) m.p.h. Seas will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (8-12) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon - Taninthayi Coast and (5 - 7)feet in along Rakhine Coast.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Increases of rain in Upper Sagaing and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin, Kayin and Mon States.
