BAYINFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
Special Features: According to the observations at 05:30 hrs MST today, the Tropical Storm“TAPHA” has crossed the Eastern Guangxi, China, yesterdays night moved northwestwards and has weaken into a Tropical Depression.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 9th September 2025: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Magway Region and Kayah State, scattered in Mandalay, Sagaing Regions and Rakhine, (Northern and Eastern)Shan States, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Bago Region and Kachin,Chin States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions. Degree of certainty is 100%.
THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing Yangon, Bago, Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Rakhine States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coast. Surface wind speed in squall may reach 25-30 mph. Wave height will be about 8-10 feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coast. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 5-7 feet in off and along Rakhine Coast.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Shan State.
