SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Eastern Shan, Kayah States. Rain or thundershowers have been fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing, Taninthatyi Regions, scattered in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Southern Shan, Chin States and isolated in the remaining Regions and States.Day temperatures were (5°C) above May average temperature in Bago Region, (3°C) to (4°C) above May average temperatures in Naypyitaw, Magway, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Shan, Kayin, Mon States, (2°C) above May average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States.The significant day temperatures were (42°C) in Chauk and (41°C) each in Myinmu, Magway and Taungdwingyi. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were (1.42) inches each in Kyaukse(Lunkyaw) and Magway, (0.95) inch in Kawthaung, (0.90) inch in Gangaw, (0.75) inch in Minbu and (0.71) inch each in Paletwa and Belin.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and Southeast Bay of Bengal. Weather is a few cloud to partly cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SPECIAL FEACTURES: According to the observations at (13:30)hrs MST today, the Typhoon “Mawar” over Philippines Sea has moved West - Northwestwards. It is forecast likely continue to move West-Northwestwards.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 29th May, 2023: Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Taninthayi Region, fairly widespread in Kayin, Mon States, scattered in Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and (Northern and Southern) Shan, Chin, Kayah States and isolated in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is (100%).

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus cloudsaredeveloping over the Naypyitaw, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Shan, Kayah, Kayin, Mon States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: Squall with rough seas are likely at times in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach (35)mph. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (8-10) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coast and (5-7) feet off and along Rakhine Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of advancement of Southwest monsoon in Deltaic areas.
