SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24)hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Lower Sagaing and Magway Regions, scattered in Mandalay Region and Northern Shan State, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region and Eastern Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Rakhine and Mon States and isolated heavy falls in Mandalay Region. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were Ann (3.83) inches, Thandwe (3.74)inches, Sittwe (3.66)inches, Gwa (3.54)inches, Yay (3.51)inches, Belin (3.43)inches, Labutta (2.87)inches, Shan-Ywar-Thit (2.85)inches, Thaton and Launglon (2.83)inches each, Kyeikkhame (2.48)inches and Myeik (2.39)inches.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 3rd AUGUST, 2018: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Lower Sagaing and Magway Regions, scattered in Mandalay Region, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region and Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavy falls in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthyi Regions, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35) m.p.h. Wave height will be about (7 - 11) feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Shan, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States.
