17-2-2026:According to the observations at 17:30 hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure over the East Equatorial Indian Ocean and adjoining Southwest Bay of Bengal still persists. It is likely to move west–northwestwards and further intensify over Southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining East Equatorial Indian Ocean on 18-2-2026. Weather is generally fair over the North Bay of Bengal, a few cloud over the Central Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

           The water levels of Ayeyarwady River are forecast to rise above the present water levels by about (4-6) feet at Myitkyina, Bhamo, Shwegu, Katha and Thabeikkyin, and about (2-3) feet at Mandalay, Sagaing, Myinmu, Pakokku, Nyaung Oo, Chauk, Minbu, Magway, Aunglan, Pyay, Seiktha, Hinthada and Zalun.

          The water levels of Chindwin River are forecast to rise above the present water levels by about (4-6) feet at Hkamti, Homalin and Phaungpyin, and about (2-4) feet at Mawlaik, Kalewa, Minkin, Kani and Monywa.
