Condition of La Nina in Third (10) days of January, 2026

  1. The Sea Surface Temperature (SST) over Tropical Pacific Ocean near the Equator and atmosphere phenomena is currently in a weak La Nina condition. According to the International Meteorological Agency, Numerical Weather prediction models are expected to continue weak La Nina level during the third (10) days of January.
  2. Although the La Nina conditions occur at Pacific Ocean, more frequently occurs Easterly Waves, more low pressure areas may form over the the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal, decrease of night temperatures in some Regions and States, untimely rainfall will occur due to the impact of La Nina.
