29-11-2025:According to the observations at 17:30 hrs MST today, the Cyclonic Storm “DITWAH” over the Southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining North Srilanka has moved Northwards. It is centered at about 785 Nautical miles West-Southwest of Coco Island(Myanmar), 135 Nautical miles South-Southeast of Puducherry (India) and 80 Nautical miles North-Northwestwards of Trincomalee(Srilanka). It is likely to move North-Northwestwards and reach over Southwest Bay of Bengal (near the North Tamil Nadu and South Andhra Pradesh coasts, India).Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the Southwest Bay and Westcentral Bay of Bengal and a few cloud over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

Cyclonic Storm SENYAR”Condition

            According to the observations at 10:30 hrs MST today, the depression over the South Andaman Sea and adjoining Strait of Malacca has moved Westwards and intensified over Strait of Malacca and adjoining Northeast Indonesia into a Cyclonic Storm SENYAR”. It is centered at about 285 Nautical miles South of Kawthaung (Myanmar), 140 Nautical miles West-Southwest of Penang(Malaysia), 55 Nautical miles East of Kuta Makmur(Indonesia) and  390 Nautical miles Southeast of Car Nicobar (India).

It does not intend to move towards Myanmar coasts at the present stage and therefore the Cyclonic Storm SENYAR” is coded as yellow stage.

The Cyclonic Storm SENYAR” is located at Latitude 5.0 degree North and Longitude 98.0 degree East, centre pressure of Depression is 998 hPa and maximum wind speed near the center is 45 miles per hour at 10:30 hrs MST today.

Next 72 hours forecast

It is likely to cross Northern Indonesia near Kuta Makmur during next 6 hours. Thereafter, it is likely to move West-Southwestwards and recurve eastwards and gradually weaken during next 48 hrs.

General Caution

Due to the Cyclonic Storm SENYAR”occassional squalls with rough seas will be experienced in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach 35 mph. Wave height will be about 9-11 feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.

People should be awared due to the Cyclonic Storm SENYAR” domestic aviation, near-shore and offshore fishing vessels, and ships along the Myanmar coastline and offshore are also advised to take precautions.
