Cyclonic Storm “DITWAH”  Condition

            According to the observations at 05:30 hrs MST today, the Cyclonic Storm “DITWAH” over the Southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Sri Lanka Coast has moved Northwestwards and is crossing near Tricomalee(Srilanka). It is centered at about 805 Nautical miles Southwest of Coco Island (Myanmar), 240 Nautical miles Southeast of Puducherry (India). 

It does not intend to move towards Myanmar coasts at the present stage and therefore the Cyclonic Storm is coded as yellow stage.

Position of Cyclonic Storm “DITWAH”, center pressure and wind

The Cyclonic Storm “DATWAH” is located at Latitude 8.1 degree North and Longitude 81.2 degree East, centre pressure of Depression is 998 hPa and maximum wind speed near the center is 45 miles per hour at 05:30 hrs MST today.

Next 72 hours forecast

It is likely to move North-Northwestwards and continue to cross eastern part of Sri Lanka Coast and adjoining Southwest Bay of Bengal and reached over the North Tamil Nadu and adjoining South Andhra Pradesh coasts, India.

People should be awared due to the Cyclonic Storm “DITWAH” domestic aviation, near-shore and offshore fishing vessels, and ships Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi coast and offshore are also advised to take precautions.
