Cyclonic Storm Condition

According to the observations at (17:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Cyclonic Storm “MIDHILI” over Northwest Bay and adjoining Northeast Bay of Bengal has moved North-Northeastwards and crossing Bangladesh coast near Khepupara.

During next (18) hrs forecast

The Cyclonic Storm “MIDHILI” is likely continue to move North-Northeastwards. It may weaken into a Deep Depression during next (12)hrs and Land Depression during next (18)hrs.

 General caution

Due to the Cyclonic Storm “MIDHILI”, rain or thundershowers will be isolated to scattered in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and (Southern and Eastern) Shan, Kayah States and fairly widespread to widespread in Naypyitaw, Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Kachin, Northern Shan, Chin, Rakhine States with isolated heavy falls in some Regions and States from tonight to during next (24)hrs.

Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced off and along Rakhine Coast. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40) m.p.h. Wave height will be about (9-12)feet off and along Rakhine Coast  from tonight to during next (24)hrs.

Advisory

Under the influence of the Cyclonic Storm “MIDHILI”, people should aware of strong wind, heavy rain, flash flood and landslide in the hilly areas and near small rivers and also domestic flight, trawlers, vessels and ships off and along Rakhine Coast.
