24-2-2026 According to the observations at 15:30 hrs MST today, the low pressure area over the Equatorial Indian Ocean and adjoining Southeast Bay of Bengal has moved West-Northweatwards and intensified into a Well Marked Low Pressure Area and reached over the Southwest Bay of Bengal. It is likely continue to move West-Northwest during next 48 hours. Weather is a few cloud over the South Andaman Sea and North Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy to cloudy over the North Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

            According to the observations at (18:30)hrs M.S.T today, the Cyclonic Storm(PHETHAI) over Westcentral Bay of Bengal has moved Northwards and crossed near Andhra Pradesh Coast(India). It is continuously move Northeastwards.

During next (6)hrs forecast

            It is continuously move to Northeastwards and forecast to weaken further into a Deep Depression during next (6)hrs.

General caution

                Due to the Cyclonic Storm, rain or thundershowers are likely to be scattered in Upper Sagaing Region, Kachin, Northern Shan and Chin States, isolated in the Lower Sagaing and Mandalay Regions, (Southern and Eastern) Shan and Rakhine States within next (48)hours commencing evening today.

Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at time off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (30-35) m.p.h. Wave height will be about (6 - 9) feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.
