Cyclonic Storm SENYAR”Condition

            According to the observations at 05:30 hrs MST today, the Cyclonic Storm “SENYAR” crossed in the interior of Indonesia has recurved and moved South-Southeast and now lies again over Northeast of Indonesia and adjoining the Strait of Malacca. It is centered at about 360 Nautical miles South of Kawthaung (Myanmar), 140 Nautical miles Southwest of Penang(Malaysia), 50 Nautical miles Southeast of Kuta Makmur(Indonesia) and  460 Nautical miles Southeast of Car Nicobar (India).

It does not intend to move towards Myanmar coasts at the present stage and therefore the Cyclonic Storm SENYAR” is coded as yellow stage.

The Cyclonic Storm SENYAR” is located at Latitude 4.0 degree North and Longitude 98.5 degree East, centre pressure of Depression is 999 hPa and maximum wind speed near the center is 45 miles per hour at 05:30 hrs MST today.

It is likely continue to move Southeastwards and weaken in a depression over the Strait of Malacca during next 24 hours.

General Caution

Due to the Cyclonic Storm SENYAR”, occassional squalls with rough seas will be experienced in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach 35 mph. Wave height will be about 9-11 feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.
