Cyclonic Storm “DITWAH”  Condition

            According to the observations at 10:30 hrs MST today, the Cyclonic Storm “DITWAH” has crossed near Trincomalee(Srilanka) and moved North- Northwestwards and now lies over Southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining North Srilanka. It is centered at about 800 Nautical miles West-Southwest of Coco Island(Myanmar), 160 Nautical miles South-Southeast of Puducherry (India) and 55 Nautical miles North-Northwestwards of Trincomalee(Srilanka).

It does not intend to move towards Myanmar coasts at the present stage and therefore the Cyclonic Storm is coded as yellow stage.

The Cyclonic Storm “DITWAH” is located at Latitude 9.4 degree North and Longitude 80.7 degree East, centre pressure of Cyclonic Storm is 998 hPa and maximum wind speed near the center is 45 miles per hour at 10:30 hrs MST today.

It is likely continue to move North-Northwestwards and reach over Southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining and near the North Tamil Nadu and South Andhra Pradesh coasts, India. 

General Caution

          Sea will be moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 5-7 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

People should be awared due to the Cyclonic Storm “DITWAH” domestic aviation, near-shore and offshore fishing vessels, and ships Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi coast and offshore are also advised to take precautions.
