SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24)hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Magway Region, scattered in Sagaing and Bago Regions, Southern Shan and Chin States, fairly widespread in Mandalay and Taninthayi Regions, (Northern and Eastern)Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States and isolated heavy falls in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin State. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were Khayan (6.88)inches, Launglon (6.65)inches, Yangon(North Dagon) (5.43)inches, Kyeikmayaw (5.24)inches, Central Yangon (5.15) inches, Ngathaichaung (4.92)inches, Yangon(Mingaladon) (4.88)inches, Thandwe (4.64)inches, Mawlamyine (4.57)inches, Nyauntone (4.53)inches, Myitkyina (4.49)inches, Paung (4.29)inches, Kyaukpyu (4.13)inches, Gwa (4.02)inches, Yangon(Kaba-Aye) (3.82)inches, Belin (3.50)inches, Mudon (3.46)inches, Pyinmana(Walgyi) (3.43)inches, Dawei (3.18)inches, Kalay and Kawkareik (3.03)inches each and Paing Kyone (3.00)inches.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 4thAUGUST, 2018: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Lower Sagaing and Magway Regions, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing and Mandalay Regions, Sourthern Shan and Chin States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Taninthayi Region, Kayin and Mon States and isolated heavy falls in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Kachin and Rakhine States. STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35) m.p.h. Wave height will be about (7 - 10) feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.
