SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24)hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Mandalay Region, scattered in Lower Sagaing and Magway Regions and Kayah State, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Yangon Region, Southern Shan and Mon States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were Madauk (2.60)inches, Kyeikdon (2.50)inches, Shwekyin (2.44)inches, Paung (2.17)inches, Sittwe (2.12)inches, Okkan and Kawkareik (1.77)inches each, Tharrawady (1.73)inches, Hinthada and Hpa-an (1.69)inches each and Thaton (1.61)inches.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 22thAUGUST, 2018: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions and Kayah State, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Taninthayi Region and Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavy falls in Upper Sagaing Region, Kachin and Rakhine States. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Seas will be moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (5- 8) feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Moderate monsoon.
