SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Sagaing Region, Kachin and Eastern Shan States, rain or thundershowers have been scattered in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Magway and Bago Regions, Northern Shan, Chin, Rakhine and Kayah States, fairly widespread in Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Southern Shan and Kayin States, widespread in Taninthayi Region and Mon State with isolated heavy falls in Mandalay, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Hlainggyikyun (5.12)inches, Launglone (3.11)inches, Thazi (2.85)inches, Central Yangon (1.77) inches and Dawei (1.58)inches.
BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and weak to moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 8th June, 2017: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Sagaing Region, Kachin and Northern Shan States, scattered in Naypyitaw, Mandalay and Magway Regions, (Eastern and Southern)Shan, Chin and Kayah States, fairly widespread in Bago Region, Rakhine and Kayin States, widespread in Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Mon State with likelihood of isolated heavy falls in Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions. Degree of certainly is (100%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35)m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (6 - 10) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama and Mon-Taninthayi Coasts, about (4 - 6) feet in Rakhine Coast.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuation of increase of rain in Taninthayi Region and Mon State.
