SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Lower Sagaing Region, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Mandalay and Magway Regions, Kayah State, scattered in Southern Shan State, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing and Taninthayi Regions, Northern Shan and Chin States, widespread in Naypyitaw, Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Kachin, Eastern Shan, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States with isolated heavy falls in Kachin State. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Putao (3.15)inches, Thandwe (2.72)inches, Hlaingbwe (2.69)inches, Kamamaung (2.67)inches, Pinlaebu and Maubin (2.20)inches each, Taungkok (2.17)inches, Chaungsone (1.93)inches, Kyauktaw and Yay (1.66) inches each and Maungdaw (1.61)inches.
BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is weak to moderate over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 3rd September, 2017: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Lower Sagaing and Magway Regions, Kayah State, scattered in Mandalay Region and (Eastern and Southern)Shan State, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing, Northern Shan and Chin States, widespread in Naypyitaw, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States with likelihood of isolated heavy falls in Kachin State.
