Deep Depression Condition

            According to the observations at 10:30 hrs MST today, the Cyclonic Storm “SENYAR” over Northeast of Indonesia and adjoining the Strait of Malacca has moved East-Southeast and downgraded into a Deep Depression. It is centered at about 380 Nautical miles South of Kawthaung (Myanmar), 120 Nautical miles South-Southwest of Penang(Malaysia), 150 Nautical miles Southeast of Kuta Makmur(Indonesia) and  495 Nautical miles Southeast of Car Nicobar (India).

It does not intend to move towards Myanmar coasts at the present stage and therefore the Deep Depression is coded as yellow stage.

Position of Deep Depression, center pressure and wind

The Deep Depression is located at Latitude 3.7 degree North and Longitude 99.2 degree East, centre pressure of Deep Depression is 1000 hPa and maximum wind speed near the center is 35 miles per hour at 10:30 hrs MST today.

Next 12 hours forecast

It is likely continue to move Eastwards and may weak into a depression during next 12 hours.

General Caution

Due to the Deep Deprssionoccassional squalls with rough seas will be experienced in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach 35 mph. Wave height will be about 9-11 feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.

People should be awared due to the Deep Depression domestic aviation, near-shore and offshore fishing vessels, and ships Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi coast and offshore are also advised to take precautions.
