Cyclonic Storm

According to the observations at (05:30)hrs M.S.T today, the Cyclonic Storm “SITRANG” over North Bay of Bengalhas crossed Bangladesh Coasts between Tincona Island and Sandwip Island and downgraded into a Deep Depression.It is continue to move North-Northeastwards.

During next (9) hrs forecast

It is forecast continue to move North-Northeastwards and decrease into a Land Depression during next (3)hrs and into a Well Marked Low Pressure Areaduring next (9) hours.

General caution

Due to Deep Depression, likelihood of fairly widespread to widespread rain or thundershowers in Naypyitaw, Sagaing, Mandalay, MagwayRegions and Kachin, Chin, Rakhine States and scattered to fairly widespread in Bago, YangonandAyeyarwady Regions with isolated heavyfalls in some Regions and States from today morning  to (26.10.2022).

Occasionally squall with rough seas will be experienced in off and along RakhineCoasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach (40) mph. Wave height will be about (9-12) feet in off and along Rakhine Coast.

Under the influence of the Deep Depression, people should be awared of strong wind, heavy rain, flash flood and landslide in the hilly areas and near small rivers and also domestic flight, trawlers, vessels and ships off and along Myanmar Coasts.
