1-12-2025: According to the observations at 05:30 hrs MST today, the Cyclonic Storm “DITWAH” over the Southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Tamil Nadu- Puducherry coasts has moved Northwards weaken into a Deep Depression and it is centered at about 750 Nautical miles West-Southwest of Coco Island(Myanmar), 55 Nautical miles Northeast of Puducherry (India) and 40 Nautical miles South-Southeast of Channei. It is likely to move nearly Northwards parallel to North Tamil Nadu- Puducherry coasts(India) and may weak into Depression during next 12 hrs. Weather is generally fair in the Andaman Sea, cloudy in Westcentral Bay and partly cloudy to cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

Deep Depression

          According to the observations at (18:30)hrs M.S.T today, the Deep Depression over West central Bay of Bengal almost stationary and it is centered at about (140) Nautical miles South-Southeast of Vishakhapatnam and about (160) Nautical miles East-Southeast of Kakinada (India).

It is not moving towards Myanmar coasts, the present stage of the Deep Depression is coded yellow stage.

Position of Deep Depression, center pressure and wind

          Deep Depression is located at Latitude (15.9) degree North and Longitude (84.8) degree East, central pressure of Deep Depression is (1000) hPa and maximum wind speed near the center is (40)miles per hour at (18:30) hrs MST today.

During next (24)hrs Forecast

          The Deep Depression is likely to move West-Northwestwards and cross North Andhra Pradesh Coast during next (24)hrs.

General caution

Due to the Deep Depression, squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35)m.p.h.  Wave height will be about (8-11) feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
