 26-7-2025: According to the observations at 05:30 hrs M.S.T today, the Depression that crossed to the interior regions of Gangetic West Bengal(India) has moved west- northwestwards and it is continuing to cross the interior regions of Jharkhand, India. Monsoon is  vigorous over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

According to the observations at 12:30 hrs M.S.T today, the Depression over Northwest Bay of Bengal(West Bengal, India- Bangladesh Coasts) has moved nearly Northwards and further intensified into a Deep Depression. It is centered at about 250 Nautical miles West-Northwest of Sittwe (Myanmar), 35 Nautical miles Southeast of Sargar Island, 60 Nautical miles East-Southeast of Degha(India), 105 Nautical miles West-Southwest of Khepupara (Bangladesh). The centre pressure of Depression is (988) hPa and maximum wind speed near the center is 35 miles per hour.

It does not intend to move towards Myanmar coasts at the present stage and therefore the Deep Depression is coded as yellow stage.

Forecast

It is likely continue to move nearly Northwards and cross West Bengal, India- Bangladesh Coasts between Sargar Island and Khepupara during next 6 hours.

Due to the Deep Depression, rain or thundershowers are likely to be fairly widespread to widespread in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Mandalay, Bago, Magway, Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayah, Kayin, Chin, Mon, Rakhine, Shan States with likelihood of regionally and isolated heavyfalls during afternoon to 2-6-2025.

 Frequent squalls with very rough seas will be experienced in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach 40-45 mph. Wave height will be about 14-16 feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Occasional squalls with rough to very rough sea will be experienced in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach 35-40 mph. Wave height will be about 10-14 feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.

 People should be awared the natural disasters such as the heavy rainfall with strong wind, thunder, Lightning strike, lightning, hails, flash flood and landslide in the hilly areas and near small rivers and inland water transport and domestic flight.
