Deep Depression Condition

            According to the observations at 10:30 hrs MST today, the Depression over the Southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining East Equatorial Indian Ocean has moved West-Northwestwards and has intensified into a Deep Depression. It is centered at about 715 Nautical miles South-Southwest of Coco- Island (Myanmar), 290 Nautical miles Southeast of Trincomalee(Sri Lanka) and 490 Nautical miles South-Southeast of Puducherry(Sri Lanka).

It does not intend to move towards Myanmar coasts at the present stage and therefore the Deep Depression is coded as yellow stage.

The Deep Depression is located at Latitude 5.5 degree North and Longitude 85.0 degree East, centre pressure of Deep Depression is 1004 hPa and maximum wind speed near the center is 35 miles per hour at 10:30 hrs MST today.
