 25-7-2025: According to the observations at 05:30 hrs MST today, the Well Marked Low Pressure Area over North Bay of Bengal still persists. It is likely to continue to move west-northwestwards and further intensify into a Depression over West Bengal, India and Bangladesh Coasts during next 18 hours. Thereafter, it is likely to cross Genetic West Bengal, North Odisha, Jharkhand and adjoining North Chhattisgarh during next 2 days. Monsoon is vigorous over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

Depression Condition

            According to the observations at (05:30) hrs MST today, the Deep Depression over the interior of West Bengal (India) has slowly moved West-Northwestwards and still persists.  

During next (36) hrs forecast

The Deep Depression is likely to move slowly West-Northwestwards and weaken into a Depression during next 12 hours and may cross continue inland of India during next 36 hours.

General caution

Due to the Deep Depression, rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Rakhine State with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls and scattered to fairly widespread in Sagaing, Magway Regions and Chin State with heavy rainfalls from today morning to next (24) hrs. Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 30-35 mph. Wave height will be about 7-9 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

 

Advisory

Under the influence of deep depression, people should be awared heavy rain with strong wind, flash flood and landslide in the hilly areas and near small rivers and also domestic flight, trawlers, vessels and ships in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts.
