8-1-2026 : According to the observations at 15:30 hrs MST today, the Deep Depression over Southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining East Equatorial Indian Ocean has moved West-Northwestwards and it is centered at about 735 Nautical miles Southwest of Coco- Island (Myanmar), 250 Nautical miles Southeast of Trincomalee(Sri Lanka) and 455 Nautical miles South-Southeast of Puducherry(Sri Lanka).Weather is cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and South Bay, partly cloudy over the Central Bay and a few cloud over the North Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

According to the observations at (05:30)hrs M.S.T today, the Depression over Southwest Bay of Bengal has moved Northwestwards. It is centered at about 790 Nautical miles Southwest of Coco Island (Myanmar) and 480 Nautical miles South-Southeast of Chennai(India). The centre pressure of Depression is (1003) hPa and maximum wind speed near the center is (30-35) miles per hour.

It does not intend to move towards Myanmar coasts at the present stage and therefore the Depression is coded as yellow stage.

 Forecast

 It is likely to countinue to move Northwestwards and may further intensify into a Deep Depression during next (12)hrs. Thereafter, It is likely to move North-Northwestwards and may reach to Tamil Nadu (India)-Sri Lanka coasts during next 2 days.
