Depression
According to the observations at (09:30)hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over the Southeast Bay of Bengal has intersified into a depression. It is centered at about (590) Nautical miles South of Paradadip(Odisha), India, about (670) Nautical miles South of Digha(india), about (440) Nautical miles Southwest of Coco-Island and about (600) Nautical miles Southwest of Pathein (Myanmar).
It is not moving towards Myanmar coasts, the present stage of the depression is coded yellow stage.
Position of depression, center pressure and wind
Depression is located at Latitude (10.4) degree North and Longitude (87.0) degree East, centre pressure of depression is (999) hPa and maximum wind speed near the center is (35)miles per hour at (09:30) hrs MST today.
During next (36)hrs Forecast
The depression Likely to intensify into a deep depression during next (6)hrs and into a Cyclonic Strom during next (12)hrs. It is very likely to move North-Northwestwards initally and then recurve North-Northwestwards after (17.5.2020).
General caution
Due to the depression, rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Thanintharyi Regions, Kayin and Mon States, isolated in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing Region, Kachin, Rakhine and Kayah States within next (48)hours commencing noon today.
Occasional squalls with rough to very rough seas will be experienced off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40)m.p.h. Wave height will be about (8-12) feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
