Depression

            According to the observations at (15:30) hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over the Eastcentral Bay of Bengal has intensified into a depression. It is centered at about (225) Nautical miles North-Northwest of Coco Island, about (265) Nautical miles West-Southwest of Pathein (Myanmar), about (325) Nautical miles Southeast of Paradip, about (360) Nautical miles South-Southeast of Digha(India).

It is not moving towards Myanmar coasts, the present stage of the depression is coded yellow stage.

Position of depression, center pressure and wind

            Depression is located at Latitude (16.1) degree North and Longitude (90.2) degree East, centre pressure of depression is (1000) hPa and maximum wind speed near the center is (35) miles per hour at (15:30) hrs MST today.

During next (24) hrs Forecast

            The depression likely to move North-Northwestwards and forecast to intensify into a Cyclonic Storm during next (24) hrs.

General caution

Due to the depression, rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread to widespread in Bago, Yangon and AyeyarwadyRegions, Rakhine States with isolated heavy falls in Bago, Yangon and AyeyarwadyRegions, Rakhine States. Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40) m.p.h. Wave height will be about (9-13) feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

Due to the depression, people should be aware rain or thundershowers with strong wind and lightning and domastic flight, trawlers, vessels and ships off and along Myanmar Coasts.
