9-1-2026:According to the observations at 12:30 hrs MST today, the Deep Depression over the Southwest Bay of Bengal has moved Northwestwards. It is centered at about 835 Nautical miles Southwest of Coco-Island (Myanmar), 155 Nautical miles Southeast of Trincomalee(Sri Lanka) and 385 Nautical miles Southeast of Puducherry(Sri Lanka). It is likely to move Northwestwards and may cross North Sri Lanka coast between Trincomalee and Jaffna during next 24 hours. Weather is a few cloud over the North Andaman Sea, North Bay and Eastcentral Bay and partly cloudy to cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

          According to the observations at (18:30) hrs M.S.T today, the depression over Southwest Bay of Bengal is centered at about (280) Nautical miles East-Southeast of Puducherry and about (300) Nautical miles Southeast of Chenn‌ai (India).It is not moving towards Myanmar coasts, the present stage of the depression is coded yellow stage.

          Depression is located at Latitude (9.6) degree North and Longitude (84.0) degree East, centre pressure of depression is (1004) hPa and maximum wind speed near the center is (30)miles per hour at (18:30) hrs MST today.

During next (48)hrs Forecast

          The depression is likely to intensify into the Deep depression during next (12)hrs and Cyclonic Storm during next (24)hrs and move Northwestwards. It is forecast to cross near Tamil Nadu and Puducherry coasts on 25rd the November.
