25-11-2025:According to the observations at 17:30 hrs MST today, the Depression over the South Andaman Sea and adjoining Strait of Malacca almost stationary still persists. It is centered at about 285 Nautical miles South-Southeast of Kawthaung (Myanmar), 55 Nautical miles West-Northwest of Penang(Malaysia), 250 Nautical miles East of Banda Aceh (Indonesia) and  465 Nautical miles Southeast of Car Nicobar(India).According to the observations at 17:30 hrs MST today, the low pressure area over Southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas of South Sri Lanka still persists. It is likely to move North-Northwestwards and become Well Marked Lowe  pressure Area during next 24 hours and further intensify into a depression during next 48 hours. Weather is a few cloud over the North Bay and Central Bay and partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

According to the observations at (17:30)hrs M.S.T today, the Depression over Southwest Bay of Bengal almost stationary and it is centered at about (760) Nautical miles Southwest of Coco Island, (870) Nautical miles Southwest ofHainggyigyun(Myanmar), (60) Nautical miles East-Southeast of Trincomalee(Sri Lanka) and (215) Nautical miles South-Southeast of Karaikal(India).

It does not intend to move towards Myanmar coasts at the present stage and therefore the Depression is coded as yellow stage.

Position of Depression, center pressure and wind

            The Depression is located at Latitude (8.0) degree North and Longitude (82.0) degree East, centre pressure of Depression is (1004) hPaand maximum wind speed near the center is (30) miles per hour at (17:30)hrs MST today.

During next (12) hrs forecast

 It is likely to move Westwardsand cross Siri Lanka coasts between Batticaloa and Trincomalee around early morning of 2nd February 2023.
