Depression

            According to the observations at (17:30)hrs M.S.T today, the Depression over the North Andaman Sea has moved North-Northeastwards. It is centered at about (125)Nautical miles West- Southwest ofMyeik(Myanmar), (170) Nautical miles Southwest of Dawei (Myanmar), about (240) Nautical miles Southeast of Coco Island (Myanmar), about (305) Nautical miles South of Yangon (Myanmar).

It is moving towards Myanmar Coasts, the present stage of the depression is coded orange stage.

 

 Position of depression, center pressure and wind

            Depression is located at Latitude (11.7) degree North and Longitude (96.7) degree East, centre pressure of depression is (1000) hPa and maximum wind speed near the center is (35) miles per hour at (17:30) hrs MST today.

 

During next (12)hrs Forecast

            The depression likely to move North-Northeastwards towards Gulf of Mottama, Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. It is likely to intensify into a deep depression during next (12) hrs.

 

General caution

Due to the depression, rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady,Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon States, scattered in Nay Pyi Taw,

Shan, Rakhine, Kayah States with likelihoodof isolated heavy falls in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady,Regions and Kayin, Mon States. Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced off and along Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40)m.p.h. Wave height will be about (10-12) feet off and along Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama and Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.

Due to the depression, people should be aware rain or thundershowers with strong wind and lightning and domastic flight, trawlers, vessels and ships off and along Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama and Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.
