It is centered at about 645 Nautical miles South-Southwest of Coco- Island (Myanmar), 420 Nautical miles East-Southeast of Trincomalee(Sri Lanka) and 605 Nautical miles Southeast of Puducherry(Sri Lanka).Weather is cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and South Bay, partly cloudy over the Eastcentral Bay and a few cloud over the North Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

A slight earthquake of magnitude (4.2) Richter Scale with its epicenter inside Myanmar (about (15) miles southeast of Keng Tung), latitude 21.17°N, longitude 99.79°E, depth (27) kilometers, about (16) miles southeast of Keng Tung seismological observatory was recorded at (23) hr (00) min (42) sec M.S.T on 7th November, 2024.
