8-1-2026 : According to the observations at 15:30 hrs MST today, the Deep Depression over Southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining East Equatorial Indian Ocean has moved West-Northwestwards and it is centered at about 735 Nautical miles Southwest of Coco- Island (Myanmar), 250 Nautical miles Southeast of Trincomalee(Sri Lanka) and 455 Nautical miles South-Southeast of Puducherry(Sri Lanka).Weather is cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and South Bay, partly cloudy over the Central Bay and a few cloud over the North Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

A moderate earthquake of magnitude (5.2) Richter Scale with its epicenter outside Myanmar (Assam, India), latitude 26.97°N, longitude 93.57°E, depth (18) kilometers, about (521) miles northwest of Naypyitaw seismological observatory was recorded at (05)hr (17)min (38)sec M.S.T on 5th January, 2026.
