10-1-2026: According to the observations at 05:30 hrs MST today, the Deep Depression over the Southwest Bay of Bengal has moved Northwestwards. It is centered at about 855 Nautical miles Southwest of Coco-Island (Myanmar), 55 Nautical miles East-Northeast of Trincomalee (Sri Lanka) and 270 Nautical miles Southeast of Puducherry(Sri Lanka). It is likely to move Northwestwards, weaken into a Depression and may cross North Sri Lanka coast between Trincomalee and Jaffna. Weather is a few cloud over the Andaman Sea, North Bay and Eastcentral Bay and partly cloudy to cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
EARTHQUAKE NEWS
A slight earthquake of magnitude (4.0) Richter Scale with its epicenter inside Myanmar (about (19) miles northwest of Myitkyina), latitude 25.51°N, longitude 97.14°E, depth (10)kilometers about (21) miles west of Myitkyina seismological observatory was recorded at (10)hr (45)min (54)sec M.S.T on 7th June, 2018.
