10-1-2026: According to the observations at 05:30 hrs MST today, the Deep Depression over the Southwest Bay of Bengal has moved Northwestwards. It is centered at about 855 Nautical miles Southwest of Coco-Island (Myanmar), 55 Nautical miles East-Northeast of Trincomalee (Sri Lanka) and 270 Nautical miles Southeast of Puducherry(Sri Lanka). It is likely to move Northwestwards, weaken into a Depression and may cross North Sri Lanka coast between Trincomalee and Jaffna. Weather is a few cloud over the Andaman Sea, North Bay and Eastcentral Bay and partly cloudy to cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
EARTHQUAKE NEWS
A slight earthquake of magnitude (3.9) Richter Scale with its epicenter inside Myanmar (about (24)miles southeast of Gangaw), latitude 21.94°N, longitude 94.42°E, depth (87)kilometers, about (60)miles northwest of Nyaung-U seismological observatory was recorded at (14)hr (43)min (19)sec M.S.T on 30th December, 2022.
