10-1-2026 According to the observations at 15:30 hours MST today, the Land Depression which crossed the North Sri Lanka Coast between Trincomalee and Jaffna has moved West-Northwestwards slowly and crossing North Sri Lanka. It is likely to move West-Northwestwards. Weather is cloudy over the Westcentral Bay and a few cloud to partly cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

A slight earthquake of magnitude (4.5) Richter Scale with its epicenter inside Myanmar (about (9) miles southwest of Kunlong), latitude 23.29°N, longitude 98.59°E, depth (9) kilometers, about (94) miles northeast of Hsipaw seismological observatory was recorded at (21)hr (54)min (01)sec M.S.T on 17th May, 2023.
