Extremely Severe Cyclonic Storm (AMPHAN)

            According to the observations at (07:30)hrs M.S.T today, the Very Severe Cyclonic Storm (AMPHAN) over the South Bay and adjoining Central Bay of Bangal has moved Northwards slowly and further intensified into a Extremely Severe Cyclonic Storm (AMPHAN). It is centered at about (435)Nautical miles South of Paradip(Odisha-India), about (520) Nautical miles South-Southwest of Digha(india), about (580) Nautical miles South-Southwest of Khepupara (Bangladesh), about (410)Nautical miles West-Southwest of Coco-Island and about (535) Nautical miles Southwest of Pathein (Myanmar).

            It is not moving towards Myanmar coasts, the present stage of the Extremely Severe Cyclonic Storm (AMPHAN) is coded yellow stage.

            Extremely Severe Cyclonic Storm (AMPHAN) is located at Latitude (13.0) degree North and Longitude (86.4) degree East, centre pressure of depression is (963) hPa and maximum wind speed near the center is (100)miles per hour at (07:30) hrs MST today.

During next (72)hrs Forecast

            It is forecast continuously to intensify and re-curve North-Northeastwards. It may cross between West Bengal(Indian) and Bangladesh coasts.

Rainfall Forecast

            Due to the Very Severe Cyclonic Storm (AMPHAN), rain or thundershowers will be scattered to fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon,  Ayeyarwady and Thanintharyi Regions, Kachin, Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States during  (18.5.2020) to (21.5.2020).

Sea Condition Forecast

            Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced off and along Deltaic, RakhineCoasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40)m.p.h. Wave height will be about (8-12) feet off and along Deltaic, Rakhine Coasts. Squalls with moderate to rough seas will be attime off and along Gulf of Mottama, Mon-TaninthayiCoasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35-40)m.p.h. Wave height will be about (8-10) feet off and along Gulf of Mottama, Mon-TaninthayiCoasts.

            Due to the Very Severe Cyclonic Storm(AMPHAN), people from trawlers, vessels, ships off and along Myanmar Coasts should be aware squall and rough seas condition and also should be aware domestic flight  for severeweather condition.
