Extremely Severe Cyclonic Storm News No.29, 2020

Extremely Severe Cyclonic Storm (AMPHAN)

 

        According to the observations at (15:30)hrs M.S.T today, the Extremely Severe Cyclonic Storm(AMPHAN) over the Northwest Bay of Bengal has moved to North-Northeastwards.It is crossing between West Bengal(India), Digha(West Bengal), India and Hatiyi Islands, Bangladesh. 

During next (24)hrs Forecast

            It is forecast continuously to move North-Northeastwards.

Rainfall Forecast

            Due to the Extremely Severe Cyclonic Storm (AMPHAN), rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread to widespread in Naypyitaw, Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon,  Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin, Chin, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States,  scattered in Shan and Kayah States with likelihood of isolated heavy falls in  Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Chin and Rakhine States during  (20.5.2020) to (21.5.2020).

Surface Wind Speed Forecast

            Due to the range of Extremely Severe Cyclonic Storm (AMPHAN) is closed the Northern Rakhine coast, Remanants of Storm over Sagaing and  Magway Regions, Northern Rakhine and Chin States. Surface Wind speed will be (30-35) m.p.h in Upper Sagaing Region, Chin and Rakhine States and Mandalay and (25-30) m.p.h in Lower Sagaing, Magway and Ayeyarwady Regions during (20.5.2020) to (21.5.2020).

 

Sea Condition Forecast

            Occasional squalls with rough to very rough seas will be experienced off and along Deltaic, Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (45)m.p.h. Wave height will be about (10-16) feet off and along Deltaic, Rakhine Coasts. Squalls with moderate to rough seas will be attime off and along Gulf of Mottama, Mon-TaninthayiCoasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35-40)m.p.h. Wave height will be about (8-10) feet off and along Gulf of Mottama, Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.

 

Notification

            Due to the Extremely Severe Cyclonic Storm (AMPHAN), people from trawlers, vessels, ships off and along Myanmar Coasts should be aware squall and rough seas condition and also should be aware flight  for severe weather condition and strong wind, heavy rain, flash flood and landslide in the hilly areas and near small rivers.
