Land Depression

According to the observations at (21:30)hrs M.S.T today, the Land Depression crossed near Hpa-an, Kayin State(Myanmar). It moved to North-Northeast and has crossing near Hlaingbwe, the present stage of the land depression is coded brown stage.

During next (12) hrs forecast

The land depression is likely continuous to move North-Northeast wards and reach near Shan-Ywar-Thit during next (3) hours. It is forecast gradually weaken into a Well Marked Low Pressure Area and may reach Myanmar and adjoining Northwest Thailand during next (12) hours.

General caution

Due to the land depression, rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread to widespread in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon States with likelihood of regionally heavy falls and isolated heavy falls from tonight to (21.5.2022). Occasionally squall with rough to very rough seas will be experienced in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coast. Surface wind speed in squall may reach (45) mph. Wave height will be about (9-14) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coast.

Due to the land depression, people should be aware strong wind with regionally heavyfalls and isolated heavyfalls and domestic flight, trawlers, vessels and ships in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.
