DEPARTMENT OF METEOROLOGY AND HYDROLOGY (MYANMAR)

2-12-2025: According to the observations at 17:30 hrs MST today, the Depression over the Southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining the Westcentral Bay, North Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and South Andhra Pradesh coasts (India) has moved South-Southwestwards and it is centered at about 765 Nautical miles West of Coco Island(Myanmar), 65 Nautical miles North-Northeast of Puducherry (India) and 20 Nautical miles Southeast of Chennai(India). It is likely to move slowly Southwestwards towards the North Tamil Nadu-Puducherry coasts, India and weaken gradually into a Well Marked Low Pressure Area. Weather is cloudy over the Northwest and Westcentral Bay of Bengal and a few cloud to partly cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

According to the observations at (14:30)hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure areaover Southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining Adaman Sea now lies over Southeast Bay of Bengal still persists. It is forecast continuously move to West- Northwestwards and further intensify into a depression over Southeast Bay and adjoining East Central Bay of Bengal during next (12)hrs and into a cyclonic storm over Central Bay of Bengal around (3.12.2021).
