29-4-2024 Weather is partly cloudy over the South Andaman Sea, South Bay and Westcentral Bay and a few cloud over the North Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

Issued at (14:00) hours M.S.T on 6-5-2022

According to the observations at (12:30)hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over South Andaman Sea and adjoining Southeast Bay of Bengal still persists. It is likely to move Northwestwardsand intensify into a Depression in the evening of (7.5.2022), into a Cyclonic Storm in the evening of (8.5.2022). It is forecast continuous to move Northwestwards and reach to West Central Bay of Bengal (off north Andhra­-Odisha coasts, India). 

 

General caution

Due to the low pressure area, rain or thundershowers will be scattered to fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, TaninthayiRegions and Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin, Mon States during (6.5.2022) to (10.5.2022) with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in some Regions and States.Squalls with rough seas are likely at times Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-TaninthayiCoasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35-40) m.p.h. Wave height will be about (8-10) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-TaninthayiCoasts.

Due to the low pressure area, people should be aware rain or thundershowers with strong wind and domestic flight, trawlers, vessels and ships in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-TaninthayiCoasts.
